Bernard Caldwell, (r) representing the AESA medical cost-reduction program, explained to the Washington County School Board the advantages of the program for teaching and support staff of the school district, at the regular meeting  of the school board on Feb. 8th.

The program offers cost reductions in
pharmaceutical materials, such as
vitamins, diabetic supplies, cosmetic
supplies as well as prescription drugs.

Additionally the program provides cost
reductions on eyeglasses, contact lens
and laser surgery, plus dental care
reductions in cost.

All this costs $10.00 per month, but does have limits as to which medical provider can be used and varies limits as to the amount of cost reduction for
the drugs and supplies.

Even school staff with good insurance can utilize the program to cover gaps in the insurance program and after insurance benefits are exhausted.

The school district will examine the advantages of the program in the future, as the recipient can either charge the $10.00 monthly fee on his/her credit card or utilize a deduction on salary payment.
