County School Board Reorganizes and Has Short Meeting
Board set a Dec. 7 3 p.m. workshop dealing with the Rite-Way Janitorial Service contract and also with the reduced student load at Dozier Schools and the need for fewer teachers

Re-elected Chair Van Brock (l) and Vice-chairman Wayne Sanders (r), with School Board Legislative Liaison Pamela Cates.
Meeting Nov. 17th, the Washington County School Board decided to keep their present Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson as well as their present attorney to deal with day-to-day legal affairs. Van Brock was elected Chair, Wayne Saunders was elected Vice-Chair and Gerald Holley was selected as School Board Attorney for the school year 2009-2010.
Other action items:
* Agreed to hire a paraprofessional receptionist office aide at Chipley High School.
* Agreed to pay MacKenzie Lane a financial supplement as the Assistant Band Director.
* Approved a job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position
*Accepted the retirement of longtime Vernon Elementary School bookkeeper Janet Knapp.
* Accepted the resignation of Vernon High School English Teacher Kathy Yarbrough.
* Agreed to transfer James Harmon from Vernon High to Dozier I school in Marianna.
* Agreed to transfer Chipley High Assistant Principal Brian Riviere to Vernon High School.
* Approved termination of paraprofessional Brenda Scott at Okeechee School.
