Bonifay Man Killed In Jackson County Crash
55-year-old Byron R. Murphy of Bonifay was killed in a one vehicle crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that 55-year-old Byron R. Murphy of Bonifay was killed in a one vehicle crash at the junction of County Road 277 and County Road 162 in Jackson County around 3:35 a.m. Tuesday morning, July 28th.
According to the FHP, Murphy was traveling north on County Road 277 when for unknown reasons, his 2001 Mazda pickup drove left and the left side tires entered the west shoulder of County Road 277.
The Maxda collided with a trash canister with its front and re-entered the travel lanes of County Road 277 and continued north. The driver failed to stop at a clearly marked stop intersection.
The pivkup continued north through the T-intersection of County Road 277 and County
Road 162. The front of the Mazda collided with a directional sign and a reflective sign north of the intersection. The front of vehicle then collided with an oak tree. The truck came to final rest facing north at impact with the tree.
The driver of was pronounced deceased at the scene by Jackson County Emergency Medical
Services.
